Medical malpractice case review:

You may find it challenging to understand the medical and technical aspects of certain medical malpractice cases. When you partner with Astute Hospitalist Consulting, you will receive clear communication regarding the merits of the case. Potential areas of review include: Was a patient harmed due to improper usage or implementation of the Electronic Health Record? Did the treating physician know or should they have known a crucial fact that would have prevented a delayed diagnosis? Did the Electronic Health Record fail to notify the treating physician of a critical alert that could have prevented harm to the patient? Did the treating physician document care properly?

Electronic Health Record review:

Almost all healthcare is now documented electronically which can be very difficult to navigate, especially when the Electronic Healthcare Records are printed as documents. Astute Hospitalist Consulting will review and organize available medical records and explain them to you in a way that you can understand while hunting for hidden information that can change the outcome of a case. If you understand the medical aspects of your case better, you will be able to better represent the interests of your client.

Expert witness report:

After review of medical records, if the opinion of Astute Hospitalist Consulting aligns with the interest of your client, a written Expert Witness report will be provided if requested. This will include an opinion regarding the standard of care, whether or not the standard of care was met, and whether or not a patient was harmed due to a breach in the standard of care.

Limitations:

Astute Hospitalist Consulting will only provide expert opinions in the areas of clinical informatics, Electronic Health Records or the care of hospitalized adults. Astute Hospitalist Consulting will happily perform initial review of any case, but will only provide an expert opinion in areas with appropriate skills, experience and training.
